Thai Fishing offer freshwater fishing trips, for predatory fish species like; Thai and Blue Mahseer, different Snakehead species, Hampala Barb, Asian River Catfish and Giant Gourami. Our lake fishing trips offer the lure fisherman some great Top-water lure fishing, in the shallow waters. Deep-running crankbaits and jigs are many times the right choice when you are covering the deep waters!

The Lake fly fishing trips require different techniques and skills from the fly angler; depending on which of the above-mentioned species you wish to target.

The mountains rivers boast some amazing Mahseer fishing, deep inside the jungle; which provides a variety of freshwater streams and freestone rivers, where you can hone your fly fishing skills on Thai and Blue Mahseer; that like nothing better than grabbing the first dry fly that floats by. Lure fisherman can find great fishing on light spinning tackle, with different types of bait.

Our freshwater fishing trips are the right choice, for lure and fly angler wishing to fish in the wild. This is a true jungle fishing adventure in Thailand’s evergreen rain forest; where you can experience some of the best wild freshwater fishing in Thailand, with an amazing wildlife sanctuary as a backdrop.

Freshwater Fishing Trips packages

We do day trip and multi-day trips on the lake; all river fishing trips are a minimum of 2 days / 1 night. For an optimum fishing experience, we recommend fishing trips of at least 3 days, because of the travel time to these remote locations. All fishing packages include round trip transfer from Phuket, Krabi or Surat Thani Airport area or from any hotel in Khao Lak, Ao Nang or Krabi town.

Our fishing trips can be tailored for you in many ways. You can choose to use all your fishing time in the lake or explore the Jungle Rivers for a whole day; with riverside lunch and return back to the base camp for the evening. You also have the option to camp overnight in the jungle with a riverside camp (Sleep in a hammock). Thai Fishing is the only fishing guide service who has had great experience with camping trips in the jungle. We will take care of you from the time we pick you up, to the end of your fishing trip.

Base Camp

The Jungle base Camp has been designed for outdoor people who enjoy rustic accommodations in a remote setting. Small bungalows built on a floating platform that also have private verandas, beds with clean linen, pillows and blankets. With toilets in a separate building and there will be generator electricity in the evening hours. The large dining area is also comfortable for socializing, with a kitchen that provides a selection of authentic Thai dishes. Made to please the western palate, and there is always more than enough to go round more than once. There are very few mosquitoes in the jungle, but for you that will explore the Jungle Rivers, we recommend using bug repellent.

Example of a 3 days/2 nights Lake fishing trip:

DAY 1. Pick–up: from your hotel at 07.00. You will arrive at the base camp around 11.30. Light lunch will be served for you, and you will be shown to your bungalow, fishing start around 14:30. Return to base camp at 18:30 where a dinner will be served for you. Evening: relaxing at the base camp.

DAY 2. Breakfast: at 06.30, after the morning fishing can start. When the fishing starts to slow down around midday, we return to base camp. A lunch will be served for you and there will also be a few hours to relax. Start the afternoon fishing from base camp around 14:30. Return to base camp at 18:30 where your dinner will be served. Evening: relaxing at the base camp after a long fishing day.

DAY 3. Breakfast: at 06.30, and then out for morning fishing. You can fish until around 13:00. We return to base camp, pack down, a quick bath, your lunch will be served. After, will we take our luggage with us, and start our way back to the pier. You will arrival back at the pier around 17:00 to meet your taxi. There will take you back to your hotel.
